Grieving with Mary

Grief is unavoidable. All of us encounter heartache at one point or another. But comfort can be found in our faith. We have hope in the Lord’s goodness and mercy. We also gain peace in the support of God’s saints and angels.

Mary is the greatest of all saints. We can depend on her to help us in our need, because she lived a life on this earth and encountered similar problems. She loves us all dearly and brings our prayers to her son, Jesus.

Devotion may be shown to Mary in many different ways. Words, art, sacramentals, sacred spaces, and simple acts. Pray in the way that suits you and your situation. Some days you may feel more comfortable praying traditional prayers while other days you cannot do more than meditate upon her icon. It doesn’t matter how you communicate with her, Mary is with you in your pain and hears your cry for help. She walks with you, straight to her son.

Grieving with Mary offers many ways to journey to Mary as well as an appendix with feast dates, Marian hymns and prayers, glossary of terms, and a reference list of Marian religious and lay organizations. This newly revised edition includes the Novena, Mary Undoer of Knots.
