When is the best time to pray? Always.
When we get into the practice of talking to God, Mary, the saints, or our angels all day long, we find it becomes an essential and integrated way of life.
This past year has raised the bar on reasons to pray. Family members, friends, neighbors, our country, all humanity, the planet, health, happiness, prosperity, love, charity, understanding, relationships, compassion, equality, increase of faith, peace, thanksgiving, the sick, the hungry, the poor. . . Everything and everyone needs a prayer or more.
My prayer list is so long, it takes me all day to cover. I pray first thing in the morning; while dressing, cleaning, cooking, shoveling, sweeping, vacuuming, and waiting; if I’m worried or upset; before meals; when I stop to sip my tea; before bed; and if I wake in the night.
As an added bonus, by praying constantly my level of peace has increased. The ongoing conversation with the Lord is my focus. I’m given moments of grace and a sense of distance from what troubles me. Everything is released into God’s care.
