Happy Birthday, Mom!

My mother, Patricia (Patsy) McCarthy Doyle, would be 90 years old today. Imagining her at this age is difficult for me. She died at the age of 70 in 1999.

When I was young, I didn’t understand why people would mourn their loved ones decades after their deaths. I get it now. No matter how long they are gone, we remember. We hear their words and feel their touch. They remain indefinitely in our hearts.

So, I continue to talk to my mom, and dad, as well. I believe they see us and love us still. Our love never dies.

Thanks for sharing your feelings today, Mary, and sharing precious photos of your mom. I’m sorry you didn’t have more time together. My mom was 25 when her mom died. I know she has never gotten over it.

    1. Wow! I didn’t know that your mother lost her mom at such a young age. How is your mom?
