Comfort Me, O Lord

On May 13, 1917, Mary appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. She told the children that they would suffer because they offered to serve God. However, Mary said that the grace of God would be their comfort.

God’s promise to comfort us is found throughout Scripture (Psalm 23:4, Isaiah 66 12-13, Zechariah 1:17, Acts 9:31, 2 Thessalonians 2:17). We are never alone. We face the tough times with God and a band of saints and angels around us. We also have earthly “angels” who reach out.

Take note of the smiles, hugs, and loving words and gestures you receive. And be that comfort to all those you encounter. It is the way to peace.
