Like it or not, we are being watched. Our children, spouses, friends, neighbors, and coworkers see us. Our actions and words are witnessed by everyone we encounter. And those actions and words affect them.
We have the potential to brighten this world through simple kindnesses-a helping hand, a smile, a word of encouragement or sound guidance. We can raise each other up emotionally, personally, and professionally. If we take a moment to think before speaking and acting we can motivate rather than discourage, evangelize rather than preach, share rather than squelch, and love rather than ignore. That’s a mentoring hero.
