The birth of a book is like that of a child to an author. My little books take years of research and writing to compile, and often, more years through the publishing process. I then spend a good number of years promoting it. Most books have a lifetime. Some are short-lived, relevant for a handful of years. Others may go on way beyond the life of the author. Either way, it’s imperative that I invest whatever part of my life the book will be a part of, on a topic I’m passionate about, and in a format I’m proud of.
Today is the 10th anniversary of the publication of The Rosary Prayer by Prayer. I’m particularly fond of this book for so many reasons. The book was written in response to the number of young people I encountered who were interested in learning how to pray the rosary. It offers an easy way to follow along, page-by-page. Each Mystery has a verse from Scripture, a Reflection, and thought-provoking original artwork by Joseph Cannella (my incredibly talented son).
It also has information about the history of the rosary, additional prayers, and references.
The Rosary Prayer by Prayer was originally published by 3E Press in 2005. Publication was taken over by ACTA Publications the following year. The current edition of The Rosary Prayer by Prayer is newly revised with updated information and contemporary language for the prayers. The “thees”, “thys”, and “thous” were replaced with “yous” and “yours”. (Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.) It is Publisher Greg Pierce’s opinion that since we do not speak in ancient language, why would we pray that way? I agree.
The revised edition of The Rosary Prayer by Prayer is available on Amazon, ACTA Publications, or my website. Please email me if you are interested in the original edition. I do have some copies on hand.
